National Guard Pen Presentation

STONES RIVER WOODWORKERS CLUB

GIFTS PENS TO

TENNESSEE NATIONAL GUARD

The Stones River Woodworkers Club of Rutherford County recently gifted over 200 hand crafted ball point pens to the 269th Military Police Company of the Tennessee National Guard based in Murfreesboro.

Upon hearing of the company’s extended deployment and the sacrifices the Guardsmen and their families have made on our behalf, the Stones River Woodworkers Club members were moved to show their support and appreciation for the Guard’s service to the community, the State, and the Country.

In addition to providing support in area’s hit hardest by the COVID pandemic, the 269th Military Police Company has served an extended deployment on the Texas/Mexico border helping train local law enforcement agencies as well as providing a large police presence along the border wherever help is most needed.

The gifted pens are made from locally harvested cherry wood and feature a military-like flat black enamel finish on the metal components.  Because every pen was hand crafted on a wood lathe by the club members, no two pens are exactly alike.  The individual members applied his/her talents and nuance to each pen resulting in a unique and novel gift for every Guardsman.

The Stones River Woodworkers Club is proud to participate in this project and look forward to more opportunities to serve Rutherford County.  For more information about the SRWC, visit the web site at www.stonesriverwoodworkers.com or the Facebook page: Stones River Woodworkers Club.
